Permitless Concealed Carry (HB 543)

Summary

As of July 1, 2023, eligible citizens can carry a concealed weapon without a permit, provided they carry valid identification.

Rights & Rules

  • 01.
    You do not need a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License (CWFL) to carry concealed.
  • 02.
    You must still meet all eligibility requirements (21+, no felony record).
  • 03.
    Open carry remains generally illegal except in specific circumstances like fishing or hunting.

Penalties

  • 01.
    Carrying if ineligible: 3rd-degree felony.
  • 02.
    Failure to carry ID while armed: Noncriminal violation ($25 fine).
