Maine legalized the recreational use, possession, and cultivation of marijuana in 2016, and has one of the most generous home-grow allowances in the country.
Rights & Rules
- 01.Adults 21 and older can legally possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, including up to 5 grams of marijuana concentrate.
- 02.You can legally grow up to 3 mature marijuana plants, 12 immature plants, and an unlimited number of seedlings at your home.
- 03.You must tag every single plant with your name, driver's license number, and the notation that the plant is for personal use.
- 04.You cannot consume marijuana in public places or while driving.
Penalties
- 01.Smoking in public is a civil violation that carries a $100 fine. Exceeding the generous plant limit can result in serious felony trafficking/cultivation charges.
