Summary
In line with its 'Live Free or Die' motto, New Hampshire repealed its concealed carry permit requirement in 2017, allowing anyone who can legally own a gun to carry it concealed.
Rights & Rules
- 01.You do not need a Pistol/Revolver License (PRL) to carry a concealed loaded handgun in New Hampshire.
- 02.You can legally carry a loaded handgun inside your vehicle without a permit.
- 03.Unlike many states, New Hampshire does not require you to inform a police officer that you are carrying a weapon if you are pulled over for a traffic stop.
- 04.You can still apply for a license if you want one, which is useful if you travel to other states that offer 'reciprocity' (honoring NH permits).
Penalties
- 01.Carrying a firearm into a courthouse or past the security checkpoint at an airport remains a criminal offense.
