Summary

Drivers must slow down and move to another lane when approaching stationary emergency vehicles, hazard vehicles, or any vehicle displayed with warning lights on the side of the road.

Rights & Rules

    You are required to move over only if it is safe to do so.
  • 02.
    You have the right to stay in your lane if moving over would be unreasonable or unsafe, provided you reduce speed significantly.

Penalties

  • 01.
    Fines up to $150 for a first offense.
  • 02.
    Up to 15 days in jail for repeat offenders.
  • 03.
    Two points on the driver's license.
