Source"The purpose of this division is to prevent acts of domestic violence, abuse, and sexual abuse and to provide for a separation of the parties involved in the domestic violence for a period sufficient to enable these acts to cease. It is the intent of the Legislature that the remedies provided in this division shall be in addition to any other remedies, civil or criminal, available to the petitioner."
