Summary
The CCPA gives Californians the right to know what personal data companies collect about them, the right to delete that data, and the right to stop companies from selling their data.

- 01.You have the 'Right to Know': You can ask a business to show you exactly what personal data they have collected about you.
- 02.You have the 'Right to Delete': You can force a business to delete your personal data from their servers.
- 03.You have the 'Right to Opt-Out': You can click a 'Do Not Sell My Personal Information' link on a website to stop them from selling your data to third parties.
- 04.A business cannot discriminate against you (e.g., charge you higher prices) just because you exercised these privacy rights.
Penalties
- 01.The California Attorney General can fine companies $2,500 per violation ($7,500 for intentional violations).
- 02.If a company's negligence leads to your data being breached, you can sue them directly for $100 to $750 per incident.
