Prohibits deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any business, trade, or commerce in New York State.

- 02.You can sue for damages if you are injured by a deceptive practice.
- 03.You can seek to stop deceptive practices through injunctive relief.
Penalties
- 01.Civil penalties up to $5,000 for each violation, payable to the State.
- 02.Consumers can recover actual damages or $50, whichever is greater (treble damages up to $1,000 if the deceptive act was willful).
- 03.Consumers can recover attorney's fees.
