Summary
Provides remedies for consumers who purchase or lease new vehicles that turn out to be substantially defective and cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts.
Rights & Rules
- 01.You have the right to a refund or replacement vehicle if your new car has significant, unfixable defects within the warranty period.
- 02.You have the right to a reasonable number of repair attempts by the manufacturer.
- 03.You have the right to engage in a state-run arbitration program if you can't resolve the issue with the manufacturer.
Penalties
- 01.Manufacturer must refund the purchase price or lease payments (minus a reasonable allowance for use) or provide a comparable new vehicle.
- 02.May include reimbursement for collateral charges such as sales tax and registration fees.

Source"If a new motor vehicle which is sold or leased in this state does not conform to all express warranties during the first eighteen thousand miles of operation or during the period of two years following the date of original delivery of the motor vehicle to such consumer, whichever is the earlier date, the consumer shall be entitled to repair, without charge, to such nonconformity."
